Sustainable agriculture can be understood as an ecosystem approach to agriculture and environment development. As a part of community based livelihood development, Aungkur initiated Sustainable Agriculture and environment development program science inception of the organization along with micro-credit intervention providing training supports, loan support and rural based nursery set up for community people. It is the act of farming using principles of ecology, the study of relationships between organisms and their environment. It has been defined as "an integrated system of plant and animal production practices having a site-specific application that will last over the long term.

* Make the most efficient use of non-renewable resources and on-farm resources and integrate, where appropriate, natural biological cycles and controls

During this reporting period, the organization conducted 5 courses on Sustainable agriculture and environment development including a course on disaster management. A total of 3066 participants attended these courses, out of which female participants represented 2373 in number. The name of the courses were Training on disaster preparedness and management; Training on environment development, Training on Social forestry; Training on Homestead vegetable cultivation; Training on Sustainable ecological agriculture.
The organic farming technology created an open access to the community people in sustainable agricultural farming practices. The farming inputs are available in local resources. On the other hand the farming techniques easy operational and reliable for production higher cropping yields. The farmers could not have dependent to inorganic farming and producing better outputs in terms of production, productivity and incomes. Overall, organic agriculture thus provides promises for sustainable agricultural development.
